The Problem: Why are there so many fully trained and experienced helping professionals having trouble
growing their private counselling practice when there are so many people in need of help and our
government funded agencies have wait lists?
Money seems the obvious answer but this begs the question “Who is responsible to ensure that people get
the help that they need?
We are used to blaming the government or saying that it is the client’s responsibility to pay, however, let’s face it.
Government funding for counselling services has always been limited and it continues to face even more severe restrictions
in these tough times. And financial difficulties are usually most seriously pronounced exactly at the time when
clients go through tough times and are in the most need of our help.
You can change this.
Why take this business course?
1. This course on the business side of counselling private practice is based on the premise that it is your ethical
obligation as a service provider to ensure that people in need are able to access your care.
2. This course is based on the belief that it is your responsibility as a care giver to bridge the economic gap and
allow your clients to connect with you in order that you are able to share your gifts and follow your calling to serve
at your highest potential.
3. This course teaches helping professionals how to take full responsibility for your own economic empowerment. It
gives you ways to change your belief systems, learn what you need to and take the actions required to bring you to the
path of financial freedom.
4. Weaving this kind of business strategy into your counselling private practice is crucial to ensure that: 1) clients
have access to services; 2) you keep your ethical obligation to self care; and 3) you never rely on clients for income
and thus risk interference in treatment planning.

What does this course teach? This course is designed in 3 parts to activate and expand your counselling business
consciousness:
1. Change your thoughts, feelings and belief systems: Learn to allow an attitude of gratitude and abundance
consciousness by working with visualization, thought-stopping, and affirmations.
2. Identify the specialized knowledge you need: Become aware of what you need to learn in order to
actualize your goal of success. Particular focus is in the field of intellectual property since
specialized information is a cornerstone of your work. The creation of information products can provide
diversification in your counselling business and can be a source of passive income. Most importantly,
however, the creation of such information products fulfills your ethical obligation to share what you
are learning with those for whom the information is an answer to prayers.
3. Create an action plan: Identify the actions you have to take to get you to your vision of success in
order to be of the utmost service in the world as a helping professional.

About Dr. Duanita: In 2008 I began to have more and more clients come through my private practice suffering
from issues connected with the economic recession. Men who were walked out of their high paying, status
jobs without warning were coming in droves, shocked and wanting to learn how they could reinvent themselves
and their careers after 50. Women were coming in waves dealing with divorce and marriage problems often
due to financial difficulties as stock markets crashed and fortunes were lost. Youth and grown ups alike
came in for help with stress while continuing searches for jobs. I was seeing desperation, hopelessness
and discouragement.
It was then that I realized I needed to learn more about economics and money, topics which had never really
interested me in the least before then. The more courses I took, the more books I read, the more I learned
the more I realized how little I knew…and how little I had been prepared for the world of economics,
business and finance during my 10 years of university education.
The more I saw the pain and suffering connected with money in the world the more determined I became to
assist the development of waves of economically empowered helping professionals who could take leadership
roles and have the power to make the changes required by the new millennium based on the kind of values
and ethics that we stand for.
I designed this program specifically to fit the needs of helping professionals who were in or who wanted to
be in private practice. I based it on principles which take into account the specific needs and business
restrictions of work that is deeply rooted in a code of ethics. I incorporated business tools that
heavily rely on the special skill sets we already have, for example, working with techniques like
thought stopping, cognitive restructuring, visualization and the power of images.
The intention of this program is to inspire you as a helping professional to accept full responsibility
for your economic empowerment as an ethical obligation to serve your clients to the utmost of your
capacity and to keep your ethical commitment to yourself with regards to self-care.
I hope you can join us in taking on this challenge. Enjoy!
